It's not fair for a reviewer to say it's too firm. The title and description clearly say "Extra Firm". Don't buy it and expect it to be soft. It's also quite smooth, which means it should repel liquids well.
Rolling on it will NOT cause it to wear out. You'll have to abuse it to wear it out. It's like the black 24" GoFit foam roller from Big 5 Sporting Goods, except this one is 36". I returned that one and am keeping this one.
